It's a great teen movie. Some light violence. I'd recommend it to about all ages. Although it seems to be about the games, this movie has very real themes to it that are extremely relevant to adults. It's a funny movie full of music, drama, and romance, but it's also pretty serious. There are no laugh tracks like in Jennette Mccurdy and Jerry Trainor's other productions.
This movie seeks to teach an important lesson about the nature of meaning. At one point, a character describes gaming as their only reason for living. But that way of thinking quickly changes throughout the story with the hopeful message that there is an alternative. When his basement-dwelling lifestyle is uprooted, the protagonist Quincy soon learns that some things in life are just more important than video games.
