There's potential. The first episode was so rushed. None of the characters had time to grow on me, and the major plot beats went by in a blur. The gore and sex are over the top and not done in a way that adds to the plot or environment. Those things have a time and place but I am here to watch fantasy political intrigue not SAW. Costuming, acting, CGI, and cinematography are all fine. The show feels like westeros which is nice. The writing is the major downfall here. I want to care about the characters. I want to be surprised instead of being 10 steps ahead thanks to needlessly obvious foreshadowing. The show needs to assume the audience is smart and act accordingly. Please show me the story instead of having the small councel exposition dump all over the place. I'm going to give it another shot next week but my hopes aren't high.
