We’ve seen this same script in various guises a hundred times over. The formatted cliches pop up predictably all the way through, the usual American love affair with Paris gets it’s predictable show-in, of course considering the movies theme and all the other cliches make an appearance, the music, mothers illness etc etc. No aspiration shown to take a new angle on this very much over played theme.

Starts off with some promise but quickly descends into a dubious political soap opera with one galling cliche after another. Ticks all the PC boxes off one by one until the corniness of it makes you cringe. The acting gets progressively worse and ham handed, until it’s nothing more than pure soapie kitsch. Dreadful! If this were an example of present day French cinema then French cinema would be officially dead. But we can perhaps write it off as just more of the trashy TV material.
