Undeniably terrible mistranslation. It's incredible how it manages to be at complete odds with 2000 years of Church history and thousands of people who know how to read and translate Greek and Hebrew. Charles Taze Russell under oath admitted he did not know any Greek letters (he could've at least gotten alpha and omega as that's written in translations of the Bible), and those who "translate" this today are incredibly under qualified (read Crisis of Conscience by Raymond Franz). The text is oddly only mistranslated when it needs to support the theology of the watchtower. This aids to JW's consistent errors in doctrine which ultimately tears families apart and allow for child abuse (search Australian Royal Commission Jehovah's Witness).
