As a person who does'n't play LoL, I used to watch my brothers play the game all the time purely because I was so fascinated by the lore. I was not a fan of the game but I am a fan of its universe. I would often think about how awesome it could be if they are to be adapted into an animated film or series. That's why I was so delighted when they announced Arcane out of the blue because finally, non-players like myself are able to enjoy the wonders Runeterra and the amazing collection of characters it has to offer.
It did not disappoint. It surpassed my expectations. The main characters are well fleshed out. The animation is superbly executed that every frame in it I feel I can use as my desktop wallpaper. Smooth, organic (some facial and bodily motion look so real its unbelievable) yet highly stylized movements 10/10. The combination of 3D and 2D animation is just *chefs kiss* .The character designs are so beautiful even side characters look like they have their own stories to tell. THE CINEMATOGRAPHY. Oftetimes I would find myself gasping at how creatively the transitions and compositions effectively convey its storytelling. The visual aspects of Arcane is just an absolute feast for the eyes. That itself is enough for convince people this is a series to check out BUT what made this an absolute masterpiece is the emotional core of the numerous storylines of its central characters. I was already teary-eyed on the first few minutes of the first episode. I can't wait to see season 2! This makes me hyped up to get into animation even more. SERIOUSLY JUST WATCH IT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF OR YOU'LL BE MISSING OUT ON SOMETHING REAAAALLY GOOD.
