A hauntingly beautiful movie. The animation is so fluid at points and the music is so grand it gives me chills. Just skip a guy like you and it’s a great movie. 8/10

The pyrotechnic homeboy is man’s greatest achievement

It may not be on the same level as the original trilogy, but it manages to tell a great story within its campaign. I adored the weapons in this game as well as some of the new mechanics. When I first saw the trailer a few years back, I was skeptical of things like the grappling hook and drop shield. But once I played the game, it felt amazing with the open world. I found the boss fights and HVT’s very fun and a nice change from previous installments. Overall, I adored the majority of this game. I have very little to complain about.

A few things could have been left out to shorten the run time a little. Overall. I loved this movie and want to see more like this.

Even though the animation my not hold up very well with todays animation standards, it still manages to tell a compelling story that expands on the ideas and themes of identity and societal pressures. The music fits so well with the relationships and situations the characters experience. I would not be the first person to say this, but Jennifer Saunders’ Holding out for a hero perfectly encapsulates what the shrek franchise is; pure, chaotic fun and drama

I can not remember a time since I was a child where a movie genuinely disturbed and frightened me to the point this film had. This film perfectly represents the childhood fear of being in a familiar place under unfamiliar circumstances. It brings me back to those times as a child where I would wake up to find that there was no one in the house and how terrified it made me feel. This film perfectly encapsulates that feeling with its atmosphere and the style of directing. There are points where the focus is not even on the events directly, rather it chooses to linger on dark hallways or specific items in the house. Even when there aren’t any jumpscares or any kind of threat in the area of focus it still manages to unsettle and confuse the senses of the audience. The tension throughout the film managed to make me and everyone I watched it with extraordinarily uncomfortable. I’ve seen others say that the payoff to the tension built throughout was lackluster in comparison to other films. Unlike these people, I find that the lack of a conventional climactic ending adds to the uneasiness that this movie provides its audience. Overall, this is an amazing feat of film making that acts as undeniable proof that horror can become a respectable genre of film through new and innovative filmmaking techniques.
