There was so many problems with this movie, It honestly would have been better as a spinoff HBO series but I regress.
Spoiler alert.
One moment he is screaming at his mother saying “get out” and the next minute they hug each other and he says “I found you I’m not going to lose you now.” There was nothing in between these two scenes convincing enough to make me believe he just changed his mind. Next thing I want to note he goes through the entire movie seeking revenge against Pedro Pascal for killing his wife. But later in the movie he refuses to kill him because he says he loves his mother and his so called father cough Maximus WHAT! They must of retconned that Maximus was Lucius’s father, in the first movie we are to believe that his father is not Maximus but an unknown Roman. How is Lucius not upset that nobody told him that Maximus was his father, why are we to believe that a honorable person such as Maximus would cheat on his beloved wife. This movie should have never been made the plot goes way to fast from one scene to the next; like how did we get here. Who is the real villain? Is it the twin emperors? Is it Denzel? We don’t know until the very end. But enough said 2 out of 5 stars.
