I have been watching many Kdramas and falling in love with many of them but this is the 1st Kdrama series that was touching enough to shed tears. Perhaps I am not a critical person and was not a fan of any of the casts so I could be open-minded to get the meaning of the series. The story blends well between Eastern traditional belief with the Western Christianity belief especially about Reincarnation, Karma, God/Deity, Karmic/soulmate relationships, destiny and past life. The producer skillfully presents their respects for both beliefs and even add on the beauty of Korean traditional Arts with Tango dance. The love bonding/ destined relationship went through different lifetimes and how it sustains through challenges and difficulties. Maybe I found myself emphathise with their tragic entangled past life relationship. The conservative social mindset about social classes, the prejudices of society, the greeds, selfishness and evil of human being sometimes are even more dangerous and lethal than a "demon" entity. Movie soundtracks did not make a strong impression on me but still touching enough I understand different people have different views and interests when it comes to favorite movies, to me My Demon leaves a prolonged touching feeling and deep thoughts about nany things. Not only everyone deserves to be treated right but sometimes we need to act on what matters most to us. Human being are emotional being and we act on our own emotions which sometimes bring unbearable outcomes. I like how they painted God/Deity in this movie that is not only familiar but intrigued. People usually look down on homeless and beggars... then It would be surprising to find out who that beggar is... In another word, the message is to treat others equally. If the God/Deity is watching us from above, they would compassionately shed tears when seeing how much human being has to suffer but the worst thing is we suffer because of our own actions. After watching the series, I could not wait to just re-watch it the 2nd time. Even though I was not a fan of any of the casts, I came to acknowledge and highly appreciate their hard work, talent and dedication to the movie. There has been stereotype about how harsh the entertainment industry is, I just wish all the actors/actresses of this movie are healthy and happy not only physically but mentally and emotionally. So much love to them.
