A tale of a lower middle class Mexico City family in the 1970s and the indigenous housemaid who held them together in hard times. The emotional ups and downs were stressful but the lead actor Yalitza Aparicio was so authentic she carried the story. The everyday street scenes of Mexico City life were so accurate. The scenes recalling the 1968 UNAM student massacre were harrowing but all too believable.
Anyone with an interest in Mexico then or now must see this movie.
