I wonder which writer looked at what is possibly the deepest and most beloved fantasy world ever created; decided to toss basically the whole thing, and in its place creates a shallow, predictable, interchangeable-mediocrity with an immense price tag. The positive news is that Amazon could still create a modern masterpiece. The script is basically already written; it's called The Silmarillion. Get a copy (I would let you borrow mine if you asked nicely), fire the current writing staff immediately, and release something that would not only bring in huge amounts of revenue, but make your organization respected by lovers of literature and film everywhere.
