Great cast, well written, perfect pasing, and the New Orleans, with it's ambiance and laize fare attitude makes for a fun, interesting, and caring film. The chemistry between Ellen Barkin (in one of her earlier films), and Dennis Quaid really lit the match. John Goodman, early in his career as well, delivered some great lines and laughs were plenty. The serious plot was delivered in a fast paced, pleasant way. Where ya at? I'm doing it!
