Very tedious - if you don't have friends to play it with, it isn't worth getting. Even with friends, the game creates bottlenecks by not allowing certain resources to fast travel, forcing you to run back and forth from biomes for hours.
It's not a complete game, but for what it is, it's annoying at best.
