SPOILER ALERT This is a great show to watch: I love the strong onscreen presence of Ibrahim Celikoll as Mehdi and the beauty of Demet as Zeynep, storyline is unique ; dialogue is captivating and engaging; settings of different houses played a strong role in depicting the theme, especially the Karaca house in the old neighborhood. Having said that I have to point out the character flaw of the main protagonist Zeynep. She used the unknowing Mehdi. She married him to save her parents from being homeless but she wasnt honest enough to Mehdi and his family that she cannot be the traditional wife BEFORE the wedding. She tells Mehdi and his family that shewont even share the conjugal bed AFTER the ceremony. For her, everything has to be about her. When a loved one shows up, all she can think of is “Oh dear, this isnt my story anymore. Why did she show up. “ At the end, she doesnt even acknowledge Mehdi’s big sacrifice. She is a self centered selfish woman. She was traumatized by her dad okay I get that. But she used Mehdi and his family for unacceptable reasons and was not honest about her intentions . She was a tease! This doesnt justify Mehdi’s temper , but she misled him in the first place.
