If you loved the first eight books in the series, do NOT tread this. It has none of the characteristic wit of the originals nor the circumstantial nuggets that make W.E.B. Griffin’s books a treasure. Plus, it completely deviated from the original storyline tenets. Natalie Cohen did NOT dislike Castillo, as an example. Also, not only did the new writers not include in any significant way the other foundational characters, there was literally NO mention of them. Perhaps understandable about some of the others, but he was married with a child on the way. And no mention at all of his Abuela and Fernando? If this was the beginning of a new series with no expectations, it’s not a bad read. But it is NOT a “Presidential Agent” series continuation.
