Purists can nitpick its cinematographic merit, but this is a very good film. Even the pace is consistent with the Punk movement. Not too much soul-searching or introspection, just an in-your-face chronology of a genre that changed music forever. Alan Rickman is brilliant as the low-keyed, self-effacing Kristal, and the rest of the casting is equally superb. If you came of age during these pivotal years, it’ll grab your heart.
