I understand that Zara’s execution of getting them to break up before the end was awful but honestly I don’t know what writing has a character admit they were wrong in the end (that Chris and Brooke should not be together) when even Chris’s character thought about breaking up with Brooke and openly admitted it. The fact that he thought about it at all (coupled with everything that Chris’s character put Zara through while working with him) was a sure sign that Zara was evidently write in Chris not being the guy for Brooke. The situation was messy with not only Zara’s job at risk but the Mom’s happiness (shown in how Brooke deciding to accept the Princeton job during the time of her unhappiness when that truly is not what she wanted). The movie frustrated me completely with how it felt as though Zara was not only being guilt tripped into accepting this relationship that was bad to begin with (obviously bad when the two people in it have to lie to Zara about it existing and Brooke getting to the point of choosing Chris over Zara. Zara never said that she could not date or be with a dude just why did it have to be a boss (also forced to be in the same house as your boss for the holiday is crazy). Only part I liked is when Zara got her head out of her butt and realized that she needs to take a step and realize that there are others dealing with issues and that they need your support back (finally realizing her best friend really needed her during the break up and before when she told her that the were fighting). But besides that, I literally can’t with this movie.
