Pax is a meaningful, thoughtful, and heartful book about a boy who looses his pet fox and sets off on a journey to get his dear friend back. He discovers the meaning of relationship and the thoughts of nature along the way. I love this book! The ending is one like no other, its just so good! This book is one of those books that make you think. I even reflected on my own self and my relationship with my dearest friend while reading it. Besides, the moral is golden! The best book I've ever read! and as a super smart fifth grader, I've read billions of books. People say the ending was bad, that's because its made for thinkers who actually understand why the ending was necessary (why was the ending necessary? I don't know but it just made perfect sense to me. Somehow.)
Warning: this is not a good choice for young kids ( Its a little graphic organizer (violence) .) Ages 11+. A good book similar to this would be Wonder. A book about a deformed kid and the meaning of friendship. Not only is it a thoughtful page-turner, but is appropriate for younger kids, and makes you think just like the book Pax does.
