Personally, I always love the little mermaid from it’s original animation, the music and the voice cast but this remake doesn’t have the “magic” like the original. As an animation major this just tore me when I heard that Disney is remaking this movie and I already despite every inch of it. The entire movie is just nothing but random filler and nonsense added in the middle just to make the movie longer. The beginning sequence felt too rushed with some of the music score felt out of place. Since when did Prince Eric even had parents or a music score for his part! I understand is for the new generation including for representation for younger girls being included. Don’t get me wrong, it’s very nice touch. Overall, it’s just Disney making movies just for cash grabs over classical movies.
