A serious shame. Wanted to like this, good storyline, good acting (Chris Hemsworth was particularly fantastic), good characters, great costume, great makeup. GOD AWFUL CGI. Like, genuinely painful in parts, it looked like a PS3 game. Shadows, reflections, lighting and physics ways off. It’s a shame because the execs would look at this like ‘people don’t want female leads’ when in reality it could’ve been fantastic if not for literally EVERYTHING being terrible CGI. Tyres, dogs, cabbages, peaches all CGI when little known fact: those things exist in real life and you don’t need to spend thousand animating them when you can use the real thing? Confusing choices here.

Shockingly bad. CGI was amateur hour, character backstories/development and relationships were non existent, scenes jumped around with no explanation, writing was trying for witty and ended up awkward. Spent the whole time confused as to what I was watching and why it was happening. I’ve played none of the games, my partner has played all of them, and we both agreed that this was a hot pile of CGI garbage.
