I’m sure not many of the negative reviews are from people who actually read the books, but from the leftist cancel crowd whose cognitive dissonance won’t permit facts that contradict their unconstrained vision of the world nor alternative viewpoints from the “deplorables”.
These books are all very well written to make the topics accessible to young minds. They tell very relatable stories heartily grounded in objective reality and lead to fruitful discussions with young minds. This is not the instruction method of the “other side” that involves parroting propaganda and appealing to emotional arguments. These stories present humans and their government as they are in reality: flawed and constrained. The books help the reader understand that rarely in life are there solutions; only trade offs. Unintended consequences abound when people act to achieve sweeping well intended objectives. We can continue to make the same mistakes by buying into the next fad of “we promise this will make it better” OR we can say “please get out of my way and let me figure it out with my community for ourselves”.
The books do a far better job than I ever could at distilling topics to resonate with children. I wish these were required reading in Elementary School followed by Thomas Sowell’s Basic Economics in Middle School (yes, I promise you they understand it) and Thomas Sowell’s Wealth, Poverty and Politics in High School. This curriculum alone would do more to uplift humanity as a whole than any government program ever conceived or implemented.
Buy it, read it, discuss it, share it. We’ll all be better when you do.
