It wasn't for me, these types of films rarely are. Was anything good about it? I really don't know. It was a form of cinema that has an appeal, but just not for me. Kind of one of those films etc that gets spoken about and watched out of curiosity, like I did. I enjoy film of all types, as long as the story is told well. It was more of a 30 minute short that was not.

It didnt work for me. Entertaining action sequences for sure, but ultimately it was too flashy and didn't have the feel of 'Tron' and did very little at all as a continuation of 'Tron Legacy'. I much prefer a more thought out plot and characters who have a little more depth, over what we were given - a reset with the promise of future nostalgia if the film does well, which it does not look like it will, sadly.

MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS: I think like many, my review was heading towards 4 or even 5 stars. Really enjoyed the look, sound and mood of the first few episodes. Felt the xenomorph could have been kept in the shadows more, don't think it works when you see it running or CGI, etc. But then the show became something else after episode 5. The tension and terror of the aliens loose around the island, could and should have been a lot more played out. I thought it was going towards that for the final three shows. Now, it seems like a revival of Westworld with teenagers leading a revolt. The xenomorph is portrayed as a misunderstood animal, on full display in bright sunlight, looking very much like a 'guy in a suit', with little mystery or interest surrounding it. Unbelievable opportunity thrown to the side, so the hybrids emerge as champions. Oh, and its also Doctor Dolittle in the future. Shame. 70's and 80's did it better with far less.

Terminator seems to be a difficult one to get right. But it seems easy to over complicate and veer off course from. Didn't enjoy this much aside from one or two action pieces and even then it went way over the top of human abilities. Why can't we have a film or series set in the future - what James Cameron showed us in the first film and the beginning of the second. Instead we are constantly given "time travel" to the past etc.

There were parts of the first season I enjoyed, but on the whole, it was mostly disappointing. The psychological methods to help catch killers etc was really lacking. I found Cross's dealing with loss quite conflicting with his romantic relationship. His friendship and acquaintances seemed over the top and distracting. 6 episodes instead of 8 would have suited the story better.

The third series left a lot to be desired. Big departure in the writing and motivations of several characters. Seemed like the powers that be wanted to take the story in a different direction and this led to a bit of a mess. I just did not get into it this time around and I really did not believe many aspects. No spoilers from me.

I've played the game many times and thought the story was solid. So I didn't quite enjoy a lot of the changes in the TV show. But, I did really like the hive mind element. Would of loved to have seen Bill's story incorporate the action of the game's version. I really think the show would of been better if they'd stuck with Joel and Ellie exclusively instead of other character's stories. Loved the flashbacks setting up the outbreak and its initial beginnings, though I felt like these would begin each episode consistently, and possibly were planned to. This made me feel the series was altered in post production, changing the structure of some episodes as they seemed that way when watching. Overall it was good, but could of been much better.

Excellent for the first half. Did not enjoy the second half so much. It went in a direction (no spoilers) I don't enjoy in Alien movies. Glad they made it though and I hope it's a big hit.

Such a huge departure from season 1 to season 3. Just finished season 3 and I struggled to follow in places. It appears the budget has been reduced on sets, f/x - practical and cgi and the general recording of the episodes. It now looks quite TV rather than cinematic. The Witcher himself takes almost a back seat to many other characters. Something has gone quite wrong with choices that have been made.

Kind of had expectations. Enjoyed Midnight Mass, Hill House and Dr Sleep. This seemed to be a departure of sorts, felt like new ground. It wasn't really for me other than a few scenes and performances. Will look forward to the next project.
