So Dr. Phil's audience should absolutely be coached not to laugh at any point unless it's an appropriate time. To snigger at a guest who is hurting or confused is so unacceptable that it almost makes me stop wanting to watch this show. Dr. Phil sometimes justifies his audience's laughter when guests comment on it, trying to make it seem alright. But it's not. DR. PHIL: you need to make sure your audience is a room full of mature adults and you need to make sure they do not laugh at your guests. Be a doctor, please. Be professional and require the same from your audience.
