This film is utterly derivative of two much better movies, Arthur Christmas and Paddington 2. It also has the distinction of being misogynist, with female characters represented either as wholly negative (the nasty probation officer has a pet toad and eats a fly on a mince pie in her first scene), or so marginal that they don't even get speaking roles (the female elves in Lapland). Two stars given only for the excellent actors, who inexplicably agreed to participate in this.
