I really wanted to love this movie. A few of the scenes are bone-chilling, but you have to have patience to get there. It sets the atmosphere immediately and never budges from it. Despite this, nothing happens.
I was expecting genuinely frightening jump scares. There weren't any, which is a shame because they would have been truly effective considering the setting and the pace of the film.
You have to immerse yourself in this film in order to find substance in it, and I appreciate that. But for me it fell flat. I think if you are afraid of the uncanny this would be an effective horror film.
