Terrible game. Just brutally bad; primarily due to the game mechanics and obtuse UI. I paid $10 and regret $9.50 of the purchase. The concept of exploring human evolution over the millenia is tantalizing, but it is shocking just how bad an interface the developers heaped on this thing.
I expect I'm the target audience for this type of game - patient and not worried about smashing buttons or sniping everything in sight. I've tried to go back and play it multiple times, waiting to break past the misery of the interface and game design, but it's a deplorable experience every single time. Think about that statement: a video game that isn't fun. Is that even possible? Yes, sadly, yes it is.
I cannot emphasize enough just how un-enjoyable an experience this game is because of the UI and mechanics. Absurdly bad.
You'll go online...watch Youtube videos of someone playing this game and imagine how much fun you'll have playing it. You'll rationalize away the nagging doubts of 'interface' or game mechanic issues as something you that won't bother you. You'll convince yourself that the folks who are lauding it in reviews must be closer to the truth than the naysayers. Then you'll buy it, try it, and regret it. Or I expect 70% of you will.
If your money's precious to you, and you think you have a better option with another game, I recommend you spend your money elsewhere. If you're intrigued, believe you can overcome the game's interface issues, and money's not an issue, then do as you will. But don't say you weren't warned.
Recommend you avoid. I wish I had.
