The first half of the series hooked me. The family tension was interesting against the backdrop of wired brains--I was even able to suspend my disbelief over people trusting computers and glorified internet providers enough to give them access to individual brains. The acting starts out strong but then gets cartoonish. If it was trying to show how regular people can become just as bad as the monsters they're trying to fight against, the execution is too ham-fisted to pull off.
Then, it seems like for episode 8 the writing was taken over by a huge Stephen King fan because suddenly we're in the Shining, replete with garden maze and an axe-wielding possessed family member. It's too bad.
