After seeing The Sound of Freedom from the studio, I was very excited to see this movie. Perhaps I had too high of hopes. It was terrible in absolutely every single way. I cannot understand how a topic such as the one covered in this movie can be messed up so monumentally. Truly everything was done the opposite of good. To start, the casting was terrible. These actors did not compliment one another. You could see that they tried their best with what was provided for them. Then it was the storyline. Whoever created the script clearly has no idea what it is truly like to be in an apocalyptic setting. And I'm not saying this in jest. They didn't do their research. They didn't bother going into the fine innuendos of being in such experiences. There were so many missed opportunities to truly show the depth of the characters and the depth of the lessons that the audience was supposed to learn. Nothing. It was like an apocalyptic Hallmark movie but much worse. I genuinely wish someone actually remakes this movie and does an actual good job. We need something like this, but much better.
