Shock value at its peak. The action/fight scenes were bloody and cool thanks to today's CGI, but also very rushed and had way too many cuts right in the middle of the action to other fights. If I had an attention disorder I might have enjoyed it more. Isn't the point of giving the fans what they want is to showcase their favorite characters? Nitara died in 3 seconds (diving headfirst into a spinning hat fatality), Reptile was a CGI monster resembling a much less threatening licker from Resident Evil, Reiko was forgettable and Mileena was decent....the only cool villain was Kabal and he was seriously underutilized.
The only parts of this film that were any good were the ones including the two main characters which were Scorpion or Sub Zero. Kano keeps you laughing in between so you don't get up and walk away, but in all honesty it could have been a whole lot better.
If you make an action movie, do the action right. Don't just use over the top blood and gore with fancy CGI to get it done. All of the good stuff was choreographed and showcased in the Sub-Zero vs Scorpion fight. Every fight should have been that way. A great movie would have had people debating over which fight was best, not which movie from which era was best.
That being said, I still enjoyed what little I could. It wasn't ALL bad, but still pretty bad. It was like Mythologies all over again.
