Such a great series and tremendous script, acting and storyline. Oh and little Maddie what a great lil actress!!

Loved this movie. I was born in '64, and 1971 wasn't long ago and this shows that change is truly possible. The black community is still fighting for equality. Although we have come a long way from 1971, not far enough. Still way too much hate among Americans. I feel fortunate I live in Northern California, and the south is still way behind. Movies like this almost make me feel ashamed to be white, but it does provide hope for the future.

So authentic and poetically told. There is no doubt in my mind this was swept aside due to color once again. A story all too all familiar in this country!

I really wanted to watch and like this but made it about 20 min in and the acting was horrible. Just couldn’t do it
