At first I thought it was kind of quirky and watchable; but the mood sours pretty quickly. By episode 4 I was kind of over it, not Murphy’s best stuff. The last episode sets up the next season and it’s much more promising. However, this season is a mess. Most of the cast isn’t likable, some of the plot lines make NO SENSE, and the jokes fall flat, hard. What’s more, the entire cast makes me imagine Murphy’s checklist of representation. It’s as distractingly, bizarrely PC as it is unbelievable high school students (most of whom look 30) would care this much about an election. Only reason I finished was my general respect for Ryan Murphy, not the actual product. Here’s hoping next season isn’t like this one.
