Honestly, I don't understand why this movie is rated so low and why it is getting so much hate. I understand this adaptation is very different from its source material, but love it for the same reason.
Dakota Johnson is so charming as Anne and I love that she drinks wine from the bottle and other things that are not so 'elegant' - it makes her real. At that point in her life, it showed how she was over everything and just didn't care. There is a scene at the beach with the two main characters that is just so beautifully done. Cosmo Jarvis has done a great job as well. Hendry Golding shines and I love that he was cast for this role. The supporting cast is amazing and Anne breaking the fourth wall makes it so much easier to understand her. I love the diversity and the screenplay. The only thing I felt was the chemistry between the two lead actors in some scenes could be better.
This movie is so underrated. I think it's a 4/5 but given how I don't feel it doesn't deserve so much dislike.
