A decent procedural TV crime drama set in a rural Swedish winterscape. The main characters are well fleshed out and mult-layered, particularly that of police officer Hanna Ahlander. As for the storylines, they move along well, but lack that extra bit of mystery and suspense. There’s an over abundance of exposition where the viewer sees what’s happening that but the cops don’t. It would be far more intriguing if the audience was left in the dark as much as the investigators are. Still, it’s worth a watch.

This series is okay at best. The biggest problem it has is that there is way too much exposition, too many detailed flashbacks, too much third-party knowledge that’s not consistent with a Christie’s story. In fact, in a very unsatisfying 3rd act, we are shown all of the secrets behind the mystery, including the murder itself, before the mandatory “all will be revealed” scene.
