Honestly I was extremely disappointed. I've always loved Will Smith but he wasn't made for this role. He's no Robin Williams. Movie wasn't convincing to me either. It was missing certain particulars like the most important part of the original movie..Do you trust me? It was only said once in the film not twice but was how Jasmine knew it was Aladdin. I think adaptations from cartoons to live film shouldn't have included as much singing in certain scenes. Also the casting in general was horrible in my opinion. Genie can't carry a tune and doesn't have that POW that he was expected. Jasmine is Beautiful but she just wasn't Jasmine and while Aladdin shared some physical facial features he just wasn't convincing. Finally Jafar was the worst casted. He should have been darker, older, his voice should have been much deeper to add the fear that came with him. I know it's for kids but they could have done so much better with this. Something like they did with Maleficent would have been a game changer but it wasn't. They tried to wow you with effects while the acting and timings were seriously horrible. Kids will love it I'm sure because a child can easily be entertained with special effects but I don't believe this captured all the real magic that could have been cast with this movie.
