I wonder how much different the tv series is from the book? I have watched the tv series and cried through parts of it , especially the end of it. At times I became very frustrated at the two central characters complete lack of communication skills . But I suppose that was crucial to the story line . I really liked Connell’s character - he was soft, gentle, bewildered, vulnerable at times by what I thought was damaged behaviours from Marianne. The tv series contained far too many sex scenes - they didn’t need to have put so many in to get the message of Marianne’s self loathing . It was her that needed therapy I felt ! It didn’t ring complete authentic at the end that she would not want to go with him. I hope there is a sequel to this to tell us what happens in the following year 🤞
