*Spoiler Ahead*
This show is so unbelievably terrible, it honestly baffles me how Hulu picked it up. The acting was laughable in some parts, but the worst thing of all is how many times the story contradicts what actually happened. In the beginning of the season it shows a perky and happy-go-lucky Michelle Carter, and in the last episode when she's having her out of body-esque reenactment of Conrad's death, she's clearly in distress as reality hits her square in the face. I feel like they're giving the real life Michelle Carter too much credit. I don't care how badly he was tormenting her by hanging threat of suicide over her head, there is no justification for pushing someone from the point of ideation to actually killing themselves - in any scenario.
And who the effing heck thought it was a great idea to insert those skits? The "teenage dirtbag", oh lawdy lawd. Cringing for lifetimes after watching that. The show is just all over the place, and it took my so long to process just how bad it really was.
