I loved this reimagining of my favorite childhood book! The writers created a very modern period piece integrating themes that were of relevance and interest to 21st century viewers. As an American having watched it for the first time in 2025, I found its exploration of racial, feminist, and class issues incredibly timely. I applaud the updating and expansion of the story! I only wish the series had continued!

This was a wonderful reboot of this story. It gave us a strong, female character! It is also a story for our time. We need heroes who stand for truth and fairness! Please see this movie! My 5-year-old granddaughter enjoyed it and her much older grandmother delighted in the Disney magic!

I will not watch Will Trent after the last episode of season 2. It turns Will Trent into a hypocrite since he himself is hiding his role in a crime. The last episode also portrays perpetrators of sexual abuse as the victims and turns the victim into a more sadistic perpetrator. Are we still placing blame on victims? Victims of these crimes should be outraged at this story plot. Also, the men win again in this story. The female cast are dirtied and reduced to criminals while the men are pitied and elevated to the dramatic hero status- sacrificing to do the right thing. If you are a survivor of sexual abuse do not watch this show. It is not trauma-informed. Even if you are not a survivor, I would avoid this show as it will only disappoint you.
