Ok. I understand that this is a kid's movie, but being that it is SUCH a notorious and classic movie of the biggest film industry on the planet, it should have been casted and directed so much better. Even the cartoon from decades ago depicts more chemistry between Ariel and Prince Eric than this live action does. They have no natural chemistry, the scenery on land is off quite a bit. Also scuddle's replacement is so annoying. Not in a good way believe me. The new added songs sucked and Ariels voice (Halle Bailey's voice) could have been so much better for singing. Also I don't understand why Eric's parents are in the film when they weren't in the original? The set director's/ creative team flopped on this big time. It felt extremely poorly executed in a very generic corny way. Ursula was my favorite character as far as casting for this film as she felt the closest acting/character wise to the original movie. Still the entire cast could have been chosen better and the on land scenery could have been more on point for the carriage ride scene & castle scenes. Also some stuff was way too CGI/ animated. You would think in 2023 and with all of Hollywood's /Disney's wealth, somethings would have had a better aesthetic and wouldn't have looked so fake.
