Ok so, I'm a 7th grader writing a report on some banned books. I come to google and see this and I told myself, this looks like a cute kids book, wonder why it's banned. So I click on it and it imminently interests me, along with all the horrible comments to go with! I went to YouTube to look up a reading of the book myself and yes...although it tackles a serious subject, I believe it shouldn't be such a serious one. As someone of the LGBTQIA community I think we need to normalize people being Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual (Me :D), Transgender, Queer, Intersex, and Asexual! For the Generation that we are going to produce one day, I think books like this should be completely normal. If anything I think THIS generation needs to chill out...
We need children to be aware of who they are, and what they can be. It doesn't matter whether your BORN a girl or a boy, or what is expected of you because of that. Wouldn't you rather have your child love you, and be able to express who they are to you, rather then have them grow up in a household where they need to hide their true selves, and feel like they are drowning? Like they have no one to talk to? And then the parents wonder why they are hiding things from them...Please just think about this before you have a child, it will change their views on the world so much, they will be more open to new things, Love themselves, and Help others. The saddest part is, I saw another 7th grader reviewing this book, and I am almost positive her parents think the same way... Please stop giving this book so much hate, With Love,
Some Random 7th Grader on the internet!!💖
(And no I'm not "confused" 😁)
