Warning * This show contains flashing and strobe effects for a little too long in the seventh episode. I don’t suffer from epilepsy but the strobe effect went on a little too long and my eyes and head were hurting that I couldn’t even finish the end of the episode. Also how do they not issue a warning before the episode?? Honestly, the show was already boring me that I’m choosing not to finish it after that awful episode, even though I paid to watch the series on Amazon. As someone who has never read the book, as a whole, this series felt more like a romance than a mystery. I appreciated the set for the 60s but James Franco’s acting was lackluster for this role. Also, I’m not sure if his character is supposed to be a bit mindless, but there were some actions or rather inaction and lines that seemed as though he wasn’t thinking through things. It’s disappointing—I had high hopes for this series considering its positive reviews and its intriguing storyline but I really did not enjoy it. I would not recommend watching this.

Disappointing. I loved and grew up with the Harry Potter books and loved the movies. This game was a complete let down. I understand it may be catered towards younger kids, but there are several issues with this game. To start, the characters lack sustenance. I’ve been playing this game for 12h+ and I am still not able to go into certain places or open certain chests. There’s not a whole lot of choice in the dialogue. And even when there is, it misleads and often directs you to only one option. The puzzles don’t seem to make sense and lack any reasoning behind it. The interaction with the cats and other random objects like turning the globe do nothing and do not make sense. My inventory was full and that was somehow why I couldn’t pick up coins from a sack. I think they messed up the game by making it in the 3rd person view. The writing and conversation is terrible. Honestly, I expected more since it seems to be highly rated. It does not deserve the praise it is receiving.
