The campaign starts promising with the story introducing Lodi as a fine character. Unfortunately later on it feels like Lightfall all over again but on another planet. Kepler is just as ugly and boring as Neomuna, maybe even worse. There's like nothing on this planet I didn't see before. What a difference with locations as the Pale Heart or the Dreaming City. The story and graphics are mid. Music is still good except for the Ikora's voice thing and I also experience a bug with weapon firing sounds falling away. Gameplay: the gunplay is still on point but I hate that they force the two new mechanics on us so much. Mattermorph is like Metroid's morph ball which is meant to be a way to transfer smoothly through the area. In fact it's a way to keep you searching more times than you like for entry points to tunnels you can navigate (if you can deal with the camera at least) through. They also added a cannon for puzzle mechanics, which is not much different from the scorch cannons we've been using for years in dungeons etc so I wouldn't call that a brand new feature.
On a more positive side the qualtiy of life changes are pretty good, I think they're free even for players who didn't buy Edge Of Fate. Armor 3.0 makes the game a good entry point for new or returning players. The portal is also a good addition. But eventually you'll be back to playing Crucible, Vanguard and if they bring it back to worth playing Gambit stuff and doing boring tasks on Keplar for months. I've been playing without breaks since a couple months after D1 released. This new Fate saga was perfect to make a fresh new start, also a chance to say goodbye to DLC releases on old gen consoles, but it's so disappointing. Hopefully the Renegades Star Wars expansion will be better but I'm not getting my hopes up.
