And the directing and camera work and score, all of them uniquely inspired.
I dont know how accurately this portrays Marilyn Monroe's life or real personality, but I dont really care about that. It takes her as a concept of celebrity and explores the exploitation, misogyny and trauma that so often are the pages that fill those gitzy looking story books, in a deeply moving and haunting way, that will linger in your mind for days after.
