This is a very unique horror film. It does not rely on CGI or jump scares, nor is it a particularly "low-budget" film. It is graphic, but presented in a way that's shocking and not hokey. It feels like it was written by Stephen King and directed by Stanley Kubrick, which is a meant as a massive compliment to Ari Aster. It's really very well done- a true masterpiece of the genre because it is such an outlier. I'd call it a top 10 horror flick, yet it seems like it is thus far wildly underappreciated.
