I am floored by the negative reviews. This movie completely blindsided me. You go in expecting to see an analogous film to the first 2 (which were great in their own right), but by the middle of the movie you realize that this is an entirely different type of journey, which uses the premise of the franchise to explore far more profound thoughts and feelings of ones mortality and how they fit into the overarching survival of our humanity. Loved the movie. I think this is a film that rewards those willing to explore internally rather than those seeking to just be entertained by a Hollywood blockbuster action film.
