Great read. It has you hooked the whole time. Anyone who loves dark academia will love this. Anyone who loves Shakespeare will love this. I've not 3been able to stop thinking about it. *Spoilers ahead* -Some characters were underdeveloped and one dimensional ( Richard, Wren and Fillipa) , while the others were complicated and well thought out - some loose ends ( even with the open ending) -Personally, for me The ending was dissapointing and not clever at all.the whole last chapter felt rushed even compared to the rest of the book.

Such an intellectual book. A book that has you thinking about it for months afterwards. The magic system is also very interesting and clever. It had me hooked, but I kept waiting and waiting for something. This is not a book I will reread . a lot of it (and it's not a small book) is exposition ,and some of it I didn't feel added anything to the concept or the ultimate message of the book and was too drawn out. The book is also very clearly biased which raises some racial prejudice.
