Cheerful Weather for the Wedding is a solid two-star film. Felicity Jones plays Dolly, a bride-to-be who stays in her room for the first 1/2 of the movie. Ellie Kendrick plays Kitty (a sister to Dolly) and gave me a good laugh with her reaction to finding out Dolly had been drinking a bottle of rum while getting her thoughts together alone in the room. The film is set in the 1930's in a very "well to do" level family. Dolly's pet turtle 🐢 was a nice touch to the storyline too.

This short six episode series packs a lot in, in a sort period of time. Each episode is roughly an hour long with a great cast and good acting. The "hero" of the run is Holly Evans, who works for The Herald newspaper...The Post is their competition. Ellie Kendrick loyally plays on the staff of The Herald, as Leona, and does a stand-up job of her small supporting role. The big "bad guy" of the series is sometimes hard to see, but as the episodes move along it builds up to be the editor of The Post newspaper...he causes a kid to suicide, etc., etc. The series shows you that in a journalism profession all is tooth and nail....people stealing a scoop from eachother...someone always trying to get an edge to a story.

There are really only two main characters: Cane and Eva. Eva is played by Ellie Kendrick, who has to man a spaceship after her partner has a mental health breakdown...then it really becomes the Ellie show. The pair were sent off by their mission control and they receive telepathic orders from the hive headquarters. There's a tad bit of redundant white screen moments where you only see eyeballs as they make telepathic contact. There's a blooper at movie time 43:56 where a stagemans' shadow can be seen crossing a beehive-ish coordor infront of Cane's appearing down said hallway. Finally, Ellie Kendrick gets off the spaceship on earth and kills an earthling by stabbing with a pen, then she feels bad. Her and her partner both cut out the telepathic control plug in their back of neck and cut ties with mission control. The film ends with the two being scared after ditching their ship to start life in new on earth. The last 20 minutes of movie have better music, being till then it was only repeated sections of Behetoven classical which was part of some frequency used in the storyline.

Attachment is a light suspense horror film (not gruesome or bloody by any stretch). There are four main characters: the uncle, Chana (mother), Leah played by Ellie Kendrick, and Maja. There is an accidental collision between Maja and Leah at a bookstore early in the film, leading to them falling into a love relationship. They head back to London together, to live with Leah's mom...it becomes evident something is "off," but all the Jewish Kabalaha rituals the mother does are viewed as something wrong with her....spoiler alert; they're to protect her daughter from a demon that is possessing her. Late in movie there's a woman that's lost her cat and Ellie Kendrick as Leah's demon kills the woman...the murder isn't shown. All that gets seen is a bloody hand behind a sheet when Maja starts looking around after demon Leah zooms away from a mirror. Ellie Kendrick's possesed portrayal is well done and this is a movie to watch with room lights off.

This is the best done rendition of Anne Frank, period! The story is, of course, based on true events. Anne Frank was a German-Jew in hiding during WWII. Her father, Otto, was the only one to survive a concentration camp once the Gustapo arrested Anne and seven others that went into hiding with her in the "Secret Annexe." #EllieKendrick doesn't just play Anne Frank...she puts every other show ever made about the young girl's diary life to shame...it's so far beyond "simply" acting 🧡. The comerodity of the entire cast resonates perfectly in telling this tragic tale, but also they were allowed the ability to use the actual words from Anne Frank's written diary.

Based on the true whisky shortage during WWII times, in Scotland. The laughs are few, but it is a "feel good" film. A ship carrying crates of whisky and some love letters in a red briefcase are retrieved (pilfered) from the ship's cargo-hold by locals before it capsized into the sea, after running into a protruding rock. The local phone operator basicly listens in on every call and knows when an inspector might come to search for taken liquor...not to mention a flag relay kid signaling ahead whenever one approaches. The whole community basicly moves the whisky around in "comical" ways to avoid its being taken away from them by inspectors. Idk...if you stick around till the tail-end of the movies credits, it states "No whisky was consumed in the making of this film." That might be the funniest part of the whole thing!

Clover #EllieKendrick comes back to her dad's farm after her brother killed himself. The movies sound (least on standard definition rental) was quiet for the first 2/3 of the film...turned volumes up to 35 or so just to hear things clearly. Anyway, she looks into her brother's reasons for shooting self and kinda winds up leaving you think it had to do with his being drunk and knowing the milkng cows had TB (meaning tuberculosis, but the whole word wasn't stated). I don't think his death was about the killing of some burried dead badgers, unless the badgers carried the disease to the cows, though movie doesn't state that either. I think that if it wasn't for Ellie Kendrick's exceptional acting to prop up this film, the thing would be a bit of a wash...coming from a non-British viewer watching film anyway. Even though it's rated R they didn't show the brother shoot himself; they didn't show his body covered in the the morgue (under a sheet with only letting his hand show, etc., etc.
