This could have been a great movie, unfortunately it is simply "Aces High" in the trenches. From the young idealist school mate, the old hand called Uncle, the heavy drinking senior officer. I could even predict who would die and when since Aces High is one of my all time favorite WW1 movies. It so blatantly used the story line of Aces High, it was hard to take the movie seriously. So many stories worth telling from WW1, why copy a previously made movie.
