I hadn't read the reviews before watching this. The acting and storyline are pretty good, but the musical numbers felt like a school's Christmas play. I'm so surprised no one else seems to have felt this. But from the opening number throughout, it just fails to match the expectations. I think about the joys of the songs from Greatest Showman and Wonka comes no where close. I thinks it's the songs themselves, both lyrics and music just come across very comedic. The voices themselves are fine.
