The actress who portrayed du Barry has something lacking . I watched the movie as if she was unique and refreshing,not that she actually was. As she was playing a courtesan I expected her to be much better looking. Maybe the coarseness of her portrayal was intended. But I didn't find it interesting. Too bad,it could have been much better.

Weinstein production got everything wrong, if you know anything about the real story this movie will drive you crazy. It's a shame because you could have produced a great movie with this subject,but this movie is not worth your time
