Superb! Of course with its Genre, no one would expect it to be realistic, otherwise it wouldn't be realistic.. A little edge of your seat film with a mixture of comedy, satire and emotional moments makes it feel as though you're watching Interstellar, Jumanji and Kong: Skull island, merged into a single movie. Jason Statham, as impressive as ever only makes it better..He kills it with every scene he's in with his corny acting and weird accent.. you can't but love him. Cliff Curtis, Wu Jing, Page Kennedy, Melissanthi Mahut and Shuya Sophia were all amazing with their performances.. A few cringe moments here and there, but overall still great. The CGI and visuals are a masterpiece as well. Only reason why it would get an 8/10 for me is; the plot could've been more solid. A little bit more backstory to the characters like the Giant squid and the other megs and it would have given the audience a framework to build their suspense and paint their expectations.. The ' Bad guys' seemed to have just popped outta nowhere; Montes, Hillary, and we just literally watched everything play out not feeding on any precognitive concepts of our own, so it wasn't as thrilling as it could have been. That being said, I still really enjoyed the movie.. And I hope we would get Another sequel soon as Haiqi is rumoured to currently be carrying some gut secrets. One last thing, I really enjoyed the way Jason ended that last meg... I didn't see it coming!
