This book has the best intentions! It may have some nuggets in all the tedious words but, sweet Lord, it is just plain boring. I anticipated some important insights into the long-suffering history of the Navajo as their ancient lands are so stunning and cruel all at the same time. The insights just are not there. The author decided to let the characters tell the stories but she unwisely neglected to curate their memories and points in any significant way. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 or none for the obvious effort and love that went into the work.
